The Heart Behind Porch Swing Travels

Hey there, I’m Caryn - the suitcase-packing, memory-making dreamer behind Porch Swing Travels.

For me, travel has never just been about checking places off a map. It’s about who is beside you, the stories you collect, and the memories you’re still laughing about years later.

My love for travel grew through a lifetime of adventures with my husband Lou, a retired United States Air Force veteran.

Together, we’ve built our greatest adventure - a family of seven children and four amazing grandchildren.

Over the years, we’ve explored castles in France, wandered through historic cities, relaxed on tropical beaches, set sail on cruises, chased theme park magic, and planned trips that started with a simple “wouldn’t it be fun if...” and became unforgettable memories.

One of my favorite adventures was taking 15 family members and friends across the ocean to France - complete with flights, rental cars, a countryside castle, World Cup soccer, Disney Paris, Versailles, and plenty of beautiful chaos along the way.

But my biggest reminder to chase those memories came after becoming a breast cancer survivor.

Walking through that journey changed the way I look at time. It reminded me that the moments we share with the people we love are truly priceless.

Because at the end of the day, life isn’t measured by the things we own...

It’s measured by the birthdays we celebrate, the sunsets we stop for, the places that take our breath away, and the stories we get to tell.

That’s why I created Porch Swing Travels.
